IU women's basketball team celebrates first postseason appearance since 2009
Mar. 27, 2014
The IU women's basketball team was a little bit … "happy" about earning a spot in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
This video from IU Athletics, posted March 18, celebrates the team’s return to the postseason for the first time since 2009.
Indiana is making its seventh WNIT appearance in program history; since the NCAA Tournament began play in 1983, this year marks IU's 11th appearance in a national postseason tournament.
This year will mark head coach Curt Miller's ninth national postseason tournament appearance as a head coach and his first at Indiana. Miller earned five NCAA Tournament berths at Bowling Green and had three WNIT appearances.
Larryn Brooks has tallied 511 points this year to add to her IU freshman record. She is the first Hoosier freshman to ever score over 500 points and her point total ranks ninth all-time at Indiana for most points in a single season.
The Indiana women's basketball team will host Northwestern in the third round of the 2014 WNIT in Assembly Hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27.
Tickets for Thursday's game are $6 for adults and $4 for youth/students. Order online at IUHoosiers.com, by calling 1-866-IUSPORTS or by visiting the IU Ticket Office inside the west lobby of Assembly Hall.
